Char Sri So this item is what you get when you have constant reservations about your parents remembering to shut off the gas before the house is engulfed in it.
For the most part, it works. I download the OME app and am informed of when one or more of the knobs is used. If they leave it on for too long, it will automatically shut off after 15 minutes (you can set your own shut off times). For the last two weeks, it has worked as advertised. The only real trouble is installation.
Installation requires that this company verify that your oven is compatible with their product. That is a huge plus considering their price tag of $100 dollars for each knob (my price at least). They make sure you can use it. It has a lot of small pieces but that is a minor annoyance at best. The YouTube videos aid you better than the manual. You have to somewhat customize the parts to how your knob inserts are shaped depending on your stove. Once you’re able to do that, you are pretty much set as there is pretty much nothing else on the market that even comes close to this level of satisfaction. My parents are safe while retaining their independence. I can’t ask for much better.

Nori Tolson 01 stem install is unbelievably fiddly w/ the tiny allen wrench supplied. i dropped the screws many times and i honestly hate you for that
02 ads playing during the installation videos is a distraction and a hard pause imposed on me trying to work w/ your product - please stop that
03 orientating the temp setting position is non intuitive - i'd make sure to re-sync the user w/ the dial angle for low / med / hiigh relative to north = off
04 knob feels a little wiggly / not solid and is too wide for us to put 2 next to each other (yes, we'd probably buy 4!)
05 the ome dial light could stay on and tell us the temp setting for the burner from a distance - but it goes out shortly after being set
06 once we got it all together it actually works and does exactly what we hoped it would!

I received my set of knobs in Feb 2021 and have been using them for about a year a and a half now. During this time, I've had plenty of opportunity to see frustrations and improvements...and assess the experience as a customer working with the Inirv/OME team.
Pros: Auto shut-off provides a peace-of-mind layer, no doubt. This is by far the biggest advantage for me. I don't live alone so having this feature is important for our safety, and the ability to check remotely whether stove is on or off is fantastic. Another pro is the commitment of the team to listen to feedback and continue to improve. Since I got one of the earliest iterations, there were some frustrating moments but I sort of expected that going in - what has impressed me is the team's long term commitment to support and improve every aspect of the product and their service. Improvements are not always quick, but they do come and the team has been willing to work with me. When newer and improved iterations of parts were introduced, they've sent them my way. When a knob was acting fiddly, I sent it back for testing and they replaced all my knobs at no extra cost.
Cons: No android capability yet - I have to use my family member's iphone to access the app. That also means I can't adjust the auto shut-off timer to longer than 15 minutes from my phone, which can be somewhat annoying. There are times when I'm braising or simmering, or bringing something to boil slowly in a terra cotta dish on the stove and I can't set and forget about it for 45 minutes because it'll auto shut off and I have an android. Hopefully the android app is available soon. Other than that, as an early adapter there were some hiccups in getting all the knobs to operate smoothly but the improvements have been steady and the team has been open to hear my feedback and replace my parts with better version.

I really like my Ome Smart Knobs. I like that I can set a duration in the app and I know all of the knobs will turn off at that time. This has helped a lot when family members don’t realize the stove is still on.

Like all supporters of this project I had to wait a long time to receive the first Ome Knob (of the five I have ordered). Once received it I installed it on the burner most often used. The installation instructions were fairly easy to follow.
The one problem I had was that the Knob would randomly disconnect from the wifi.
When I contacted Inirv with the problem they were very prompt in trying to sort out what the issue was that was causing the disconnects. After several failed attempts to correct the issue they sent me a second Knob. I installed that knob successfully and it did not have the problems the first Knob did. The engineers then monitored the two knobs and then apparently discovered the issue with the first Knob and were able to correct it with an over the internet update that has solved the problem.
I look forward to receiving the other three Knobs I have ordered.

Amazing little smart knob
Love this smart knob. App is well thought out and the functionality is what you’d expect. Shockingly quiet when it rotates, love the little light that turns on too. Working with Alexa is clutch, highly recommend.

I wish it allowed all types of stoves it was not compatible with mine. I will buy again once they expand coverage across different types not just flat nob ones
